Well, for all of you that don’t know, I successfully defended my thesis on August 19th, 2008. The original date was suppose to be the 22nd, but due to vacation times and whatnot, it was moved up. I had less time to prepare but was excited to get things over with ASAP.
The defence was hard. The questions they asked were very hard. I’m glad I didn’t tell people to come. They would have witnessed a massacre. It was almost embarrassing with the amount of information I didn’t know. I got my chance to make up for things during the revisions process. My defence committee decided on which things I needed to change with my thesis. The changes weren’t really that hard, but the fact that they were changed that needed to be done was kind of a bummer.
The changes took me a couple of days to do (with money making work crammed in there). When I got to the end, I felt pretty good inside. But I was also very nervous. I needed to get my changes submitted to Graduate Program Services by Friday the 29th of August. Today I raced down to Guelph to get all of the submission work done. I knew that I’d need to do money work for the rest of the week, so today was really the only day I could do my stuff. There was a lot of paper work, but I got it done. It was easier than I expected it to be.
What do I do now that I’m done? That’s actually an easier question to answer than I expected it to be. I start focusing my attention on blackberry, iPhone, android and Drupal development. It might sound like a lot, but I just did a masters thesis. I have a feeling I can handle this. I need to get a Mac before I can start working on iPhone apps. So my first step is to work on android. It is platform independent, and something I can continue working on learning when I get the Mac. The blackberry is a windows only thing, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.
